I was recently asked by My Brest Friend to do a review on one of their new products, the 3-in-1 Body Pillow. It was packaged beautifully when it came to my house – I was excited to give it a whirl! I pulled it out of the package and even thought about reviewing it myself, but since I lack the baby belly it requires I thought it best to pass it on to someone who could actually use it. I brought it to my childbirth class and it was quickly taken to its new home. The following is a review written by someone who took my childbirth class who is due January 2012.
Looking at the packaging for the My Brest Friend 3-in-1 Body Pillow, I thought I was up for a plush cloud from heaven above that would answer my cries for a full night of rest. After pulling the body pillow out I was a bit taken aback. The size was much smaller and thinner than I expected but I didn’t let this discourage me from thinking this could be the answer I was looking for. I used the My Brest Friend Body Pillow on the first night and it took me a minute or two to figure out what end was which and that the “belly wedge” was to be placed under my belly. After that, it was simple to use.
After a couple of weeks of use I can say that the pillow has aided me in getting a more restful night of sleep. I have enjoyed the upper portion of the pillow which allows me have additional support for my head and neck. The support also keeps me slightly more elevated which provides the extra bonus of reduction in heart burn! My Brest Friend boosts a slimmer, less bulky design which is evident in the body pillow. This does help with not crowding hubby out of the bed or being too cumbersome to maneuver through the night. Unfortunately, this does come at a cost. The belly wedge and lower portion of the pillow provide only a minor amount of support and comfort due to the thinner design. I definitely missed the extra filling in these parts of the pillow.
Overall, I would say that the My Brest Friend Body Pillow can be a helpful piece to have if you struggle with sleeping while pregnant. I would consider this to be a supplement to my arsenal of pillows rather than an all in one fix. Not a “best friend” but a nice companion to have when you need an extra hand.
