Stitch Fix Review October 2014

If you haven't read my first post about Stitch Fix and why I decided to try it out go ahead and read that first. If you're all caught up, here's my stitch fix review for my very first fix!

stitch fix review boxI have to say, opening the pretty box that came in the mail was very exciting. Even my husband and kiddos were interested to see what was inside! The box was smaller than I had envisioned, but the contents didn't disappoint.

Just as I mentioned in my previous post Megan Fradley-Smith, a friend of mine, was my stylist. It's so fun to actually know the person who sent you the clothes.

Without further ado, here's what I got. Please leave a comment and help me pick what I should keep!

Stitch Fix Review October 2014

1. The first outfit is a cute maxi dress. When I pulled it out of the box I loved it! It is super soft, extremely comfortable and even looks sorta fancy. The color goes perfectly with living in Tallahassee. 😉

However, when I put it on I was sad that it didn't fit me correctly in the top. Dangit for having small boobs! The Itty Bitty Titty Committee struck again. I really loved this dress. I wish I could keep it! (Maxi Dress $44)

2. The second outfit is SO different than anything I would have even fathomed to try on. I really like the blouse, it fit me well. The color... oh the color. I'm not sure about the color! I think I like it! But I own nothing in this color and it's totally out of my comfort zone. What do you think? I really need some input here. (Sleeveless Blouse $54)

The maxi skirt is really great. I love everything about it. I mean, can you really go wrong with a maxi skirt? The length is perfect (I often have a hard time finding long enough skirts for my long legs), the fabric is soft and stretchy, and the pattern is great. I love it. What do you think? (Maxi Skirt $58)

3. The third outfit is the same blouse, my jeans but this really comfortable sweater thingy. I could really see myself liking this cozy sweater. It has these big pockets on the side that were just asking to be snuggled into. 😉  I like it! Bonus? The green tones look great with my coloring. (Cardigan $58)

4. Last, but certainly not least, my favorite top of them all. This top fit me perfectly. It could easily go with jeans or a skirt. What do you think? (Sleeved Blouse $64)

Why I love Stitch Fix

  • I don't have a lot of time to peruse the racks of clothes like I did before I had kids. This is an easy way to get stylish clothes to my front door without wasting time (that I don't have) searching. If you have lots of time you probably won't enjoy Stitch Fix as much as I do!
  • It's nice to have someone with a sense of style pick out clothes for me. Seriously, left to my own devices I don't seem to be doing myself any favors. The pictures I took in my new clothes look SO much better than what I usually wear!
  • Trying on clothes in my own home is way more fun than taking my kids with me in the dressing room. 'Nuff said.
  • It's FUN!!
  • They have a referral program and if you send someone their way and sign up for "a fix" you get $25 in credit. Sweet deal!

Feedback Please!

Ok, so I need your help. What do you think? Leave a comment and let me know what you thinks should stay or go.

  1. I adore outfit #3 on you! So perfect!

I don't like the yellow blouse with the bw maxi, but it suits you so well with the jeans and cardi. And the bw maxi looks great on you as well!

  2. Yes to all but the first! It's cute, but the waist is too low for you. And I think that yellow top is cute, especially since you could layer it in the winter without it making you too warm. How fun!

  3. I love that first dress and I'm sad it doesn't fit you. I love the blouse and how I looks with jeans and the cardigan. I think that color looks great on you and it's fun to be shown things that expand your comfort zone. I hope you keep those! Can you keep them all? How does that process work?

    1. I can keep it all, some of it or none! If I choose none I pay a $20 styling fee and if I buy it all in get no fee and 25% off! I kinda wish I liked all of it...

  4. Love love love the last 2 outfits on you! And I really like the skirt in #2, but I would probably pick a different top to go with that skirt. And the dress might work a bit better if it isn't quite so long... maybe tea length? Add some nice heels.... (If you keep it I will hem it for you!)
    Good luck!!

  5. I love that golden blouse! It might not be a color you're used to, but it's the perfect shade of yellow for your coloring. I don't love it with that particular maxi, but I do love it with your jeans, it looks great with that green cardi, and I think it has a lot of potential for other combos. I also love the green cardigan. Perfect color for you, and the flutter sleeve blouse is great too! So pretty! How fun to open a box full of goodies 🙂

  6. I love the cardigan and the last blouse. I'm not sure if the yellow is your color or not from the picture (doesn't work for me near my face), but I want to see it in person. The maxi skirt is cute, I just got some similar fabric for maxis!

  7. Some one once told me that that yellow color on me screamed "I have red hair and I love it!"
So I think it's perfect and daring, a fun change from the usual. Super jealous of the cardigan.
You have a way different body type than me, but I love the Lauren Conrad line at Kohls. And it usually ends up being cheaper than target. It's so easy to just grab 5 things I love the look of and just buy them and take em home , I haven't returned one yet. they usually have a breezy, loose but stylish look and I always get compliments, you should check it out!

  8. And FYI, if you had big boobs and you wore that red dress, they would just be all out there and it would be way more innapropriate than it being a bit baggy. Trust me, I have experience 🙁

  9. I love everything about outfit #3! I hope you kept the top and cardigan. It looks great with jeans.

I just pinned your photo to my Stitch Fix board! Hoping to get something that cute next month! This month was a bust for me.

  10. What photo program or web app do you use to make your review photos? I'm trying to figure out if there is a good (preferably free) web app I could use for mine.

  11. I really love all the pieces except for the maxi dress. I love the dark yellow top on you, just not with the maxi skirt. I think you'll be surprised at how much that top will go with. Nice fix!
